CHELSEA CUNNINGHAM

Chelsea Cunningham is in her 4th year of choral teaching. She spent the last two years teaching middle school choir as well as the 4th and 5th grade Eagle Honor Choir at Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas.


While at LCA, her ensembles consistently received superior ratings at contests such as TPSMEA Solo and Ensemble and best in class awards at Sandy Lake Music Festival. The majority of her singers at LCA participated in the TPSMEA Children’s Honor Choir and Middle School Honor Choir.


Chelsea became a chorister when she was at Cleburne High School in Cleburne, Texas. During her junior year, she placed 5th chair in the TMEA Women’s Choir and 2nd chair in the TMEA Mixed Choir during her senior year. She went on to obtain a Bachelor in Liberal Arts with emphasis in vocal music from Texas Woman’s University where she studied voice with Joni Jensen. She hopes to complete her Masters of Music Education by 2020.


During her time at TWU, Chelsea was involved in several operas and choral ensembles. Her favorite roles include Pamina in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and Lucy in Menotti’s “The Telephone”. She also received both the James McKinney award and Most Outstanding Performer award two years in a row.


Chelsea currently resides in Carrollton, Texas. She loves yoga, weight lifting, running, and taking funny videos of her cats, Prince and Oliver.
